The purpose of this systematic review was to compare corticosteroid injections with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) injections for musculoskeletal painand fatigue in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods:We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of corticosteroid therapy compared with NSAID therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, strongest legal steroid on the market. We identified all RCTs reporting the efficacy and tolerability of topical corticosteroids versus NSAIDs in relieving musculoskeletal pain and fatigue in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, altamofen review. Data extraction was conducted using MEDLINE and EMBASE databases and assessed the potential biases. We also searched electronic databases, bibliographies, and conference abstracts for additional studies. We assessed trial quality and conducted the systematic review, meta-analysis, and an independent quality assessment of the included studies, altamofen review. Results:The search found 822 papers meeting the inclusion criteria and we assessed the quality of 638 papers following the systematic review, the randomised controlled trial (RCT) of 638 patients (8.7%, 95% confidence interval [CI], 5.5%-9.6%) and a cohort study of 617 patients (6.2%, 95% CI, 4.7%-7.0%) published in the period 2003 to 2010. Of 638 results, 9.2% (95% CI, 3.8%-11.7%) were randomized controlled trials (RCT), and 19.4% of the 638 studies were RCTs comparing corticosteroids with NSAIDs. For RCTs, there was no evidence to support a difference in efficacy when compared with NSAIDs, dianabol tablets benefits. Conclusions:In this systematic review and meta-analysis, there was no evidence for superiority of corticosteroids compared with NSAIDs with respect to musculoskeletal pain and fatigue with the inclusion of studies of rheumatoid arthritis. However, there is an association between corticosteroid use and increased risk of hospitalisations for musculoskeletal conditions, anabolic steroid heart condition.
